Anita C. Merritt, 66, a resident of Washington, NC, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 24.

A visitation will be held at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service on Monday, September 26 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A graveside funeral service will be held at 284 Gallberry Road in Washington NC on Tuesday, September 27, at 2:00pm at the family home, officiated by Reverend John Cooper.

Anita was born to the late Martha and Robert Conner on December 6, 1955, in New Bern, NC.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne and Thurman Conner; a sister: Linda Jones; and a son: Jason Leo Mills.

She is survived by her husband: John James Merritt; a son: David Merritt; and a grandson: Conner Lee Bolt
