Anita Lynette Williams, age 46, a resident of Bridgeton NC, passed away at her home on May 16, 2022 due to long-term health conditions.
Anita was born in Columbus, Mississippi on December 20, 1975, to parents Linda and Robert
and moved to North Carolina when she was two -where she continued to reside.
Anyone that knew Anita, knew that she was a “jack of all trades and master of most”. She was
talented in numerous ways and had the motivation and skills to back it up. A real country girl,
she enjoyed fishing and didn’t need help baiting a hook. She took pride in her accomplishments
and always strived to do better. She loved road trips but only if she was driving!
Anita is preceded in death by her son Jay Lee Cox Jr.
She leaves behind a large family; her mother: Linda Hartley Coursen and family of Trent Woods, NC; father: Robert Alan Williams and stepmother Trish Williams of Washington NC; three brothers: Kenneth Williams, Robby Williams, Roger Sutton, and one sister: Suzanne Leggett. She is also survived by five of her children: Christina Cox, Deanna Matthews, Toby Strickland (of the home), Evelyn Owens, and Nicholas Young; two grandchildren: Jay Lee Cox III (LJ), Stetson Matthews; along with seven nieces and four nephews that she loved dearly.
Services may be announced at a later date.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to be assisting the Williams family.
