Billie Edwin Pittman, age 80, a resident of Washington, NC, passed away enveloped in the love of his wife and two daughters on Monday, June 6, 2022 at his home.
The Pittman family will receive friends at the family home, 205 Maple Lane in Washington, NC on Wednesday June 8, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
He was born to the late Edwin and Dora (Patton) Pittman in Washington, NC on November 10, 1941. From as far back as anyone can remember, he was the man making the plans and was always on the go. The going was usually down some obscure back road that he knew like the back of his hand.
Billie had the ability to give directions better than anyone… and he loved to talk; he would talk with anyone and anything. It was not unusual for you to see him talking to his family or friends, talking to the animals, the neighbors’ animals, and the birds. Billie would talk to a fly if it happened to land long enough or was even if it was just passing through.
He was a man of many loves… Billie loved his ECU Pirates, the NY Yankees, fishing, taking the ferry to Ocracoke Island, anything that would land him outdoors. None of that compared to the love that he had for his wife and family.
Along with his wife Margaret June Pittman (Harden), Billie is survived by his both his daughters and sons-in-law: CJ and husband Christopher LeMay, Stephanie and husband Andrew Johnston; and two grandchildren: Ryan and Rebecca Johnston.
