Bryant Hardison, age 64, a resident of Bath, North Carolina died Sunday, August 1, 2021. Bryant was born July 28, 1957 to the late Willie “Billie” Hardison and Bryant “EB” Etheridge Hardison, Sr. in Beaufort County, NC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Athens Chapel Church of Christ in Bath, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 10:00 am until the service hour at the church.

Bryant lived a life of service. He was involved in Boy Scouts for many years, from being a scout himself to leading many boys to achieve their Eagle Award as a Scout Master of Troop 258. He also served with East Carolina Council as a District Executive. He met regularly with the NC Society of Surveyors, of which he was a member and also held offices both in the Eastern Chapter of the Society of Surveyors and at the state level, and counted his fellow members as treasured friends. One of his favorite ministries was working at the Beaufort County Jail and Hyde County Prison as a Gideon, leading Bible studies and services with inmates. You could find him on Saturday mornings for many years in fellowship with his fellow Gideons at the hospital cafeteria. When his children were in school, he was president of the Bath Elementary PTO and served on the Beaufort County Board of Education as a member and chairman. His church family at Athens Chapel Church of Christ was very dear to him. He served there as a deacon and enjoyed cooking as part of the fellowship ministry. He made many lasting friendships in his 28 years of working with Weyerhaeuser before starting his own land surveying business, Wood Duck Land Surveying, to serve his local community. He was a devoted husband, loving father and the most fun “Pop” to his grandchildren. He will be missed greatly, but we rejoice to know that he is with his Savior and has been made new.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Hardison, one son, Joshua B. Hardison, two daughters; Katherine H. Hosey, (Alan) Molly H. Brickhouse, (Sam) grandchildren; Rebecca Lynn Hosey, Samuel Brickhouse, Brianna May Hosey, Ava Grace Hosey, Isaac T. Brickhouse and Delilah June Hosey, one sister, Jennifer Small and a niece, Christina Small.

Joseph B. Paul, Jr. & Washington Funeral & Cremation is honored to serve the Hardison family.
