Curtis Douglas Boyd, aged 61, passed away on October 11, 2023, in Washington, NC. Curtis was born on September 28, 1962, in Beaufort County. He was a dedicated business owner, having successfully operated his own business, Reliable Painting Service, for more than two decades. However, painting and construction were not just his profession; they were part of his very essence. Curtis possessed a deep-rooted talent for fixing things, and it seemed as though this ability to transform the disused into something remarkable was encoded in his DNA.
Beyond his work, Curtis had a keen eye for hidden beauty, taking neglected items and restoring them to their former glory. He found joy in visiting car shows, tractor shows, flea markets, antique stores, and junk shops, always on the hunt for treasures that would captivate his imagination. Curtis also had a mischievous side, finding amusement in making prank phone calls and bringing laughter into the lives of those around him.
Curtis is preceded in death by his beloved father, Amos Boyd, his caring mother, Mary Tripp, his dear brother Joseph Harding, and his loving sister Jessie Chandler. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his wife, Phyllis Boyd, two daughters, Elizabeth Baucom and Sara Nichole Boyd, his devoted brother Gerald Harding, and his adored grandsons, Gage and Beau Baucom.
Curtis Douglas Boyd will be remembered for his commitment to his craft, his ability to see potential where others saw nothing, and his zest for life. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends, who were fortunate to have shared in his journey.
