Danny Raeford Buck, age 76, a resident of Washington, NC passed away at his home on September 21, 2023. He was born in Washington on April 9, 1947 to the late Henry Paul and Vesta Oleta Buck.
He married the love of his life Janice on November 10, 1965. They were married 55 years. He absolutely adored her and spent his life always working to provide the best possible life for her and his family.
Those who knew Danny might describe him as funny, witty, and loving. While those adjectives would certainly be correct, they would not even scratch the surface of effectively delineating his character. Danny had an unrelenting devotion to his family. Danny also served in the Vietnam War as a communications specialist, contributing to a better future for all Americans. Following his time in the service, Danny worked as a carpenter, building many of the homes and buildings that the Beaufort County community uses every day.
Danny was a member of Graceway Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved his church family and always looked forward to attending. His life was as admirable as it was influential. He greatly influenced his family, instilling the type of values that all parents strive to pass on to their children. Values like kindness, acceptance, and commitment.
Along with his parents, Danny was predeceased by wife Janice Buck.
He is survived by his two children and their spouses, Michele Buck Laughinghouse (Jeff), Danny Raeford Buck II (Tiffany) and his sister in Law Dorothy Mills. He has 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Haley, Brandon, Xavier, Lilyana, Zoei, Elouise, Danny III, and Jaison. He also has one great grandchild, Zane Lee Miller. He will be forever missed and loved by the family that he built.
