Dolores “Dee” Jordan Woodward, the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as esteemed teacher, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2024 at her home in Belhaven, NC at the age of 82. Dee was born January 22, 1941, in Washington NC to the late William George and Avis Midgette Jordan.

She was a native of Belhaven, North Carolina. She graduated Valedictorian from J. A. Wilkerson High School, went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from East Carolina College, and later graduated with her Master’s in Education from the College of Charleston. She dedicated nearly four decades of her life to the profession of teaching, imparting knowledge and shaping the lives and minds of countless students. Her commitment to education left a lasting impact on the community and will be remembered by generations of students whose lives she touched. Over the years, she faithfully served in the church in Sunday school ministries and Bible studies, and shared to all who would listen about her Lord Jesus and the importance of living out God’s word.

Dee recently celebrated 63 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart and love of her life Robert “Bobby” Lee Woodward. She was a devoted military wife, as Bobby faithfully served the US Coast Guard for twenty years. Together, Bobby and Dee raised five children in many homes across the country and made time for dinner at the table every night. Those closest to Dee describe her as generous, thoughtful, God-fearing, and a prayer warrior.

Dee found solitude and fulfillment in the study of God’s Word, The Bible. She also found beauty and serenity in nature and loved the oceans and rivers of NC which brought her peace and joy throughout her life.

Dee leaves behind a loving family and many dear friends who will deeply miss her presence. She is survived by Robert L. Woodward, her beloved husband. Her oldest son is Kevin and wife Luanne Woodward with their four children; Tim and Tori Woodward with their children Joy and Lily, Catherine and Jonathan Blalack, Benji Woodward, and Carey Woodward. Their oldest daughter Janet Woodward with her three children- Zach Burbage with a daughter Aubrey, Taylor Burbage with daughter Jocelyn, Brandon Burbage and fiancée Brianna Lambert, along with sons Brody and Jacob Burbage.
