Elbert Brown Gaskins age 91 a resident of Vanceboro, NC died on Friday, July 19, 2019.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 22, 2019 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington officiated by Ward Sullivan and Todd McMillen.
Mr. Gaskins was born in Beaufort County on December 30, 1927 the son of the late Thad Bejamin Gaskins and Arlie Jones Gaskins.
Elbert was married to Betsy Moore Gaskins on October 25, 1947 his wife of seventy one years who survives. He worked as a Forestry Manager with the Weyerhaeuser Company until his retirement after 38 years of service.
Along with his wife: Betsy Gaskins of the home, he is survived by: two daughters: Kathy Sullivan and husband Ward of Chocowinity, NC; Kay Edwards and husband Jerry of Vanceboro, NC; a son: Kenny Gaskins and wife Crystal of Chocowinity, NC; two sisters: Zelma Clark of Chocowinity, NC; Edna Galloway of Vanceboro, NC; a brother: Bud Gaskins and wife Carolyn of Blackjack, NC; twelve grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Elbert was preceded in death by a brother: Garland Gaskins and a grandchild: Regina Furman.
