Glenn Overton Credle, Sr.
Glenn Overton Credle, Sr. age 75, a resident of 6280 Kelly Road, Bath, NC died Sunday, September 30, 2018.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday October 3, 2018 at St. Clair’s Church of Christ in Bath. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Washington Assembly of God in Washington.
Mr. Credle was born on April 27, 1943 in Beaufort County the son of the late Willie Arthur Credle and Martha Overton Credle. He graduated from Bath High School and then attended Roanoke Bible College in Elizabeth City, NC. After college he worked as a fireman for the town of Elizabeth City where he met his wife Frances Burnham Credle who preceded him in death. He and Frances moved to Bath where he then took a job with Texas Gulf now known as PCS Phosphate until leaving to do commercial fishing and later becoming the owner of North Creek Marina in Bath, NC. Mr. Credle enjoyed decoy carving, wooden boats, all outdoors activities including hunting and fishing, genealogy, maritime history and antique cars.
He is survived by two sons: Glenn Overton Credle, Jr. and wife Jessica of Bath, NC; Ellis William Bright and wife Wendy of Greenville, NC; a daughter: Kristen Beverly Owens of Ayden, NC; a sister: Vivian Dwyer and four grandchildren: Heather Nicole Baker, Brianna Bright, Spencer Beverly and Sydnie Credle. Along with his wife Frances he was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Cleary Lueck and brother: Gene Arthur Credle.
