Gonzalo Perez Roldan, age 84, resident of Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, Mexico, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
He was born on January 10th, 1937 to the late Natalia Roldan and Elpidio Perez in Itatlaxco, Hidalgo, Mexico.
He was married to his wonderful wife Ambrosia Acosta Gonzalez, who passed away in 2001.
Gonzalo was a loving Father and is survived by his 6 daughters: Evodia Perez, Lorena Perez Acosta, Octavia Perez Acosta, Ma. Paz Perez Acosta, Sarita Perez Acosta, and Rosalina Acosta, four sons: Rodolfo Perez Acosta, Jacinto Perez Acosta, Raul Perez Acosta, and Abraham Acosta, 22 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Gonzalo was a very honest man. He was dedicated, hardworking, and an advocate for children’s education. He founded the community of La Cienega with the purpose of providing accessibility to a school for young students. A song was written commemorating this accomplishment and a bit about his life, titled El Politico Pobre.
A mass will be celebrated in his memory on Tuesday, November 23rd at 6:30 PM at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Washington, NC.
