Harold “Bud” B. Ormond, Jr. age 82, a resident of Bath, NC died Monday, June 28, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, July 7 2021 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor James Cullen. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at Bath Christian Church and other times at the home.

Mr. Ormond was born in Beaufort County on October 6, 1938, son of the late Harold B. Ormond, Sr. and Helen Credle Ormond. He graduated from Bath High School in 1957. Bud married the former Nelda Gaylord on January 27, 1963, and so they remained for almost six decades. He spent most of his life working with his hands, getting what he could from the soil. His first job was with Weyerhaeuser but eventually he went back to farming. Bud was even involved in horse farming for Texas Gulf, where he hauled equipment and supplies back and forth from central New York.

Bud is survived by his wife: Nelda Gaylord Ormond; a brother: Kenneth C. Ormond and friend Jennifer Jarvis of Bath, NC; a brother-in-law Jimmy Gaylord and wife Joann of Raleigh, NC; two sisters-in-law: Linda G. Shively and husband James of Washington, NC, Gloria Ormond of Bath, NC; 5 nieces, 6 nephews, and 17 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Ormond and a sister: Cynthia Brickhouse.
