On February 27, 2022, Jean Perry Bell, 73, the most amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law and Nana, passed away. She left those behind longing for more time with her but comforted by the unforgettable memories of all of our time together. Her smile always lit up the room, her unconditional love never wavered, and her sweet nature was unmatched by anyone. She was a true blessing to everyone that knew her.

Jean was born in Washington, NC on February 23, 1949. She graduated from Washington High School and Beaufort County Community College for nursing. She worked at the Department of Social Services for many years where she loved assisting those in need. After retiring from DSS, she enjoyed traveling with the Joy group, cooking, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

On August 2, 1975, she married the love of her life, Vance A. Bell Jr. who survives. She also leaves behind her daughter, Vanessa Bell Cox, of Raleigh, and son-in-law, Eric; her son, Vance A. Bell III (Tre’), of Washington, and daughter-in-law, Sara. She has three grandchildren which she adored, Ruth Bell, Belle Cox and John Bell. Also surviving are a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their spouses and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Dorothy Perry.

There will be a graveside service held 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Oakdale Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the home.
