JoAnne Watters, a resident of Washington, NC passed away at age 70 in Vidant Beaufort Hospital on January 27, 2022.
JoAnne was a sweet soul. She loved everyone she met and was Ma Jo to her son’s friends and many others. She had many faithful furry friends over the years. Her favorites were Ginger, Charlie Brown and most recently, Bailey.
JoAnne enjoyed crocheting, making jewelry and volunteering at Harvest Church. She was a truly caring person and took care of lots of folks, especially her mom Annie Wilson, who survives. Even Facebook got it right when a game said, “God gave you the gift of having a generous heart. You carry a lot of responsibility and play a big role in other people’s lives. People appreciate your effort and love you for who you are.”
She loved Jesus with all her heart and shared His love with many others over the years. We are sad at our loss, but rejoice with knowing she is healed and in His presence.
She is survived by her mother: Annie Wells Wilson of Washington, NC; two sons: Brian John Polumbo of Washington, NC and Nathan Matthew Hite of Vanceboro, NC; one sister: Laura Wilson Nicholas of Washington, NC; one brother: Michael Lee Wilson of Adkins, Texas and one grandson.
She was preceded in death on September 24, 1999 by her husband James William Watters, Sr. and a brother: James Edward Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the mission fund at Harvest Church.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to be assisting the Watters family
