Joyce Ann Davis age 65, a resident of Greenville, NC died Friday, February 15, 2019 at her home.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Joyce was born on March 15, 1953 in Mecklenburg County the daughter of the late Thomas Dewitt Penegar and Addie Fisher Penegar. She was married to Marvin Daniel Davis her husband of forty one years who survives. Joyce had a God given gift for being artistic as could be seen by her many paintings and designed crafts. She loved animals and was a past President of the Great Dane Club of America. Joyce took care of any cat in need and loved her two Great Danes: Harley and Mercy which she leaves behind. She was a loving wife and sister, she will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
Along with her husband: Marvin D. Davis of Greenville, NC, she is survived by three sisters: Donna Knight and husband Tommy of Charlotte, NC; Annette Cowley and husband David of Lincolnton, NC; Terri Ross and husband Steve of Nashville, TN; a brother: Tommy Dewitt Penegar and wife Angela of Stanley, NC and several nieces and nephews.

    I attended Spaugh Junior High in Charlotte with Joyce. She and I were good friends and I was so happy to reconnect with her on Facebook. I was with her in gym class when she chipped her front tooth! She was a very special lady and I send sincere condolences to her family. She is now with the angels. Christy Aldredge

    Joyce and Bucky were our good friends for more than 20 yrs. we will miss her so much. She was the smartest and kindest person we know. We have had many of her danes . Her knowledge of the breed was excellent. We spent many a good day visiting with them over the years. Bucky our hearts go out to you, we wish you well and pray for you.
