Katrina Michelle Davenport, age 37, a resident of Washington, passed away unexpectedly at her home after a long and complicated medical illness on Monday, October 31, 2022.

There will be a gathering of friends, loved ones, and family on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service with Minister Kim Boykin speaking.

“Chelle-Belle” was born in Wilson, NC to Mark and Mary “Sugie” (Pridgen) Davenport on May 28, 1985. She was so many things to so many people; a daughter, mother, fiancée, sister, and a friend. A confidant who could be the keeper of secrets, or the person who you looked to when you wanted to share your life’s celebrations.

Along with her parents, Katrina is survived by her daughter Layla “Luka” Nichole Modlin, fiancé Bryan Allan, three sisters: Heather Brenheny, Rachel Davenport, and Tristen Davenport, and her niece Carlie Anderson.

She was strong willed, kindhearted, and hardheaded… most of all, she was loved.

You are forever now… infinitely everywhere and free to swim in the warm, crystal-clear blue oceans with the dolphins that you loved so much.

Katrina’s illness has left the family physically, emotionally, and financially exhausted. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donation to assist them with the many bills that have been incurred and to help them with securing her young daughters future. Donations may be made by CLICKING HERE

Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to be assisting the Davenport family.

Oh Michelle, I just found out this morning at 4am that you passed away last year. It’s been over 20 years since I last seen you. I can’t even begin to describe how hard all the memories of that summer just flooded me this morning. I had just turned 18, didn’t have anything to my name, carefree and cocky-then I met you. My first Girlfriend, my first Love. I always felt like a giant when I held you in my arms. The times at your house when your Dad would be cooking, Shug would be watching “Friends”, and Rachel was just always looking in the mirror it seemed- you were right beside me!! We had such a fun summer that year! From riding around in my car that leaked gas, to holding each other on a blanket next to my Grandad’s cornfield, it’s definitely a season of my life I’ll never forget.Unfortunately I didn’t get to say goodbye to you so this is pretty much my tribute to you. Thank you for that smile! Thank you for being my friend and my first! I hope to see you again one day my friend!!! Yours truly- Brantley Your bf from 2001:)
