Kenneth Darrel Boyd passed away peacefully in Vidant Beaufort Hospital on March 3rd, 2022, around 11 pm. He spent the day surrounded by his family and closest friends.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Joseph B. Paul, Jr. Funeral Service. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Born on January 19, 1947 in Pinetown, North Carolina, he was the youngest of a large family. He spent his younger years working as a farmer before joining the Army. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he met his wife Linda and spent a peaceful life caring for his family in Washington, North Carolina. He was kind-natured and never hesitated to help anyone. He went above and beyond to care for others. He had a love for his furry companions both dogs and cats alike.

A familiar sight in Little Washington would be Kenneth walking his dog or chatting with strangers who instantly became friends, always with a diet coke in hand.

Kenneth was a quiet man whose smile was bright and genuine to all those around him.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Linda, his grandson Roger, as well those he loved and helped cared for as if they were his own children, Lisa and Angel. Kenneth is preceded by his son Roger Sr.
