Latoya McMillan Howard, a native of New York, also known by the nickname (BUNCHIE) was born on November 23, 1980, to her parents John and Odell McMillan.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 2:30pm. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30pm at the same location.
Latoya was the youngest of three children. She attended and graduated Public School 137, and Junior High School I.S. 271 in Brooklyn, NY. From there she attended Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY. Latoya was very outgoing, and she was outspoken. She loved to joke and laugh growing up as a child and was always the life of the party. Latoya loved cooking, and her favorite food was Spanish foods; she loved eating too! In her early childhood, Latoya attended St. Mary’s Pentecostal Church in Queens, NY with her parents, under the leadership of her grandfather, Bishop John H. McMillan. This is where she was taught the principals of living a life that God would honor. She accepted Jesus as her Lord, and Savior. Latoya served on the Usher Board while attending this Church and became a part of the Youth Choir. After the death of her grandfather, her parents joined St. James Church Founded by Jesus Christ, under the leadership of Pastor P. Jones in Brooklyn, NY.
Latoya had a love for God, and as with many of us, strayed away and began leaning to our own understanding. Thanks be unto God, she made it back to the Ark of Safety, had a little talk with the creator and she surrendered to the call of salvation; confessed, and it was and is well with her soul. On May 19, 2023, at 12:50pm Latoya departed this life, and entered into eternal rest at the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband: Willie T. Howard, her father: John McMillan Jr., her loving mother Odell McMillan, one sister: Andrea McMillan, one brother: Jermaine McMillan, one nephew: Hakeem Mills, and one niece: Kayla Marie McMillan, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and one special devoted cousin, Patice from Baltimore Maryland.
Her godmother Noreen preceded her to the grave.
Latoya suffered a little, but the suffering of this life cannot be compared to the Joy she is now experiencing being absent from that old body.
She is now present with the Lord.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to be assisting Latoya’s family.
