Linda Kaye Nichols, a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, peacefully passed away on September 2, 2023. She was born on June 21, 1953, and at the time of her passing, she was 70 years old.
Linda was a devoted woman who cherished her role as a homemaker. Her passion for creating a warm and inviting home was evident to all who had the pleasure of visiting. She took great pride in tending to her beautiful garden, filled with colorful flowers that brought joy and tranquility to her life. Linda also had a deep love for hummingbirds and birds in general, spending countless hours observing them with wonder and awe.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David W. Nichols, Sr., and their two sons, David W. Nichols, Jr. (Leilani) and Stephen B. Nichols (Hana). Linda’s nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Steven W. Nichols and Julianna Y. Nichols, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her sisters Joyce Hatcher, Carol Alligood (Colon) Betty Sue King, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her adored mother, Hattie Hudson Midgette, and her beloved father, Vernon Midgette and brothers Richard “Skippy” Midgett and Frank Squires Sr.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:00am, at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service, where family, friends, and loved ones will come together to honor and remember Linda’s life. Following the service, interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery.
In remembrance of Linda’s vibrant spirit and in acknowledgment of the love she shared with those around her, the family will host a reception after the interment at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service.
The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service.
Linda Kaye Nichols will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a kind-hearted woman who found beauty in the simple pleasures of life. Her legacy will live on through her cherished family and the memories they hold dear.
Linda’s prayer for her family is that they accept Jesus in their heart and receive him as their Lord and Savior and serve him.
