Lucas James Oliver, “Luke”, was born on October 10th, 1986 in Plymouth, NC. He went to be with God on October 21st, 2021.
He leaves behind a devoted and loving mother, Michelle Black, a stepfather and friend, Doug Black, his father Lester Oliver and his fathers fiancée Amanda Jones, a brother Joseph “Joey” Oliver, and a sister McKayla Cook and her husband Cameron Cook, two younger sisters Hannah and Haley Black, his grandparents Melvin and Erma Oliver, and Mike and Vera Hardison, two aunts: Jenny Oliver, and Vickie Gurganus and her husband Ricky, his uncle Robbie Hamlett and his wife Tracy, cousins Hunter Gurganus, Jessie Hendrix and her husband Tyler, Mylei and Brandon Martinez, Noah Hamlett, Kenzie Hamlett, Graclin Hamlett, River Hamlett, Darlene Miller and family, Lisa Angeles and family, Cindee Hawkins and family, and the Hufton and Powell families.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Vickie and Jerry Hamlett, Jim and Hilda Hardison, and Gordon and Hazel Hufton.
Luke was a contractor by trade. He loved spending time with his family and he loved the outdoors and spent much of his free time fishing and hunting, and passed that passion onward, volunteering to take kids on outings with the youth hunting and fishing club Cross Trail Outfitters (CTO).
He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.
Luke is and will be missed and will live on in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held at 7:00pm Friday October 29, at Joseph B. Paul Washington Funeral and Cremation.
The funeral will be held at 2:00pm Saturday October 30, at Union Grove Church of Christ in Pantego, NC, with the committal following at Davis Cemetery.
