Margaret “Maggie” Nelson Wynne, beloved sister, mother, Nana, and friend, passed away on October 21, 2023, in Williamston, NC. She was born on December 3, 1950, in Robersonville, NC, making her 72 years old at the time of her passing.
Maggie was a dedicated and hardworking individual throughout her life. Her career included serving as an Administrative Assistant in the healthcare industry and being the first woman in sales at the Port of Houston. She demonstrated incredible determination, breaking barriers and inspiring others along the way.
Beyond her professional life, Maggie had a zest for life and a passion for various interests. She loved to travel, finding joy in exploring new places and embracing different cultures. The beach held a special place in her heart. Maggie and her husband Ronnie spent many years at their beach RV. They would relax on the beach and spend time with friends. Maggie loved beach music and loved dancing with Ronnie.
Family and friends were paramount in Maggie’s life. She treasured her loved ones dearly and made sure they knew how much she cared. Maggie’s infectious laughter and warm presence brightened countless gatherings, creating lifelong memories. She loved her children, Maria and Gregg Yost, and Beth Terlep. She was always so proud of their accomplishments! Her nieces and nephews were just like her own children at times, there was more than enough love and laughter to go around! If you saw Maggie, you saw her sister Dell. They loved to go on adventures together! Every day was an adventure with Maggie.
Maggie’s grandchildren, Cody Stalls, Seth Stalls, Jacob Yost, Kanani Terlep, Kekoa Terlep, and Kewika Terlep, were the light of her life. She adored spending time with them whenever possible, always preparing their favorite meals. She was especially known for her cheese biscuits, and she would craft a dough “letter” representing each of their first names.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Wynne, as well as her mother, Mae Dell Leggett Nelson, father, Robert Burton Nelson, and brother, Ruben James Nelson. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Fred and Frankie Nelson, Joe and Nanci Nelson, Benny and Shelby Nelson, Dell and Jimmy Hagwood, and Robert Burton Nelson Jr.
A memorial service to celebrate Maggie’s life will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at her home located at 1133 Ranch Motel Road, Williamston, NC. The family is grateful for the support and condolences they have received during this difficult time and will be welcoming friends at her home.
