“You always say that I’m your world. Well, You’re my sunshine and the world has always revolved around the sun.” – Justin M. C. Cannon

Pamela Jean Cannon, born February 23rd, 1960, laid her eyes to rest on the 10th of November, 2021, in the warmth of her home in Vanceboro, North Carolina. Despite a constant battle with ailing medical conditions, she bore a smile and evinced her strength to the end, all while relentlessly nourishing those around her with the purest forms of love.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Pam was a beautician by trade, working in their salon in Vanceboro, North Carolina: externalizing the beauty of her customers. She later left her job as a stylist to fiercely dedicate herself to her children and grandchildren, yet never abandoning her mission to improve the lives of others.

Pam was predeceased by her parents, Garland Mobley and Rachel Mobley, daughter, Erica Monique Cannon-Cox, brother, Garland “Boo” Mobley, Jr, and son, Justin Dickens.

She is survived by her children, Destiny Rachel Cannon and Ellie Jean Cannon, grandchildren, Kyla Teyera Cannon, Justin Malakai Christian Cannon, Madison Dickens, Kaden Cox, Kamden Cox, daughter in-law, Jennifer Dickens and sister in spirit, Scarlet Sawyer, and notably, her cat, Koi Fish.

In lieu of flowers, Pam would want you to express your love to those you value… Please consider honoring Pamela by adopting a tradition of her own, “Never say goodbye, tell me I’ll see you later.”

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, November 19th at 1pm, with services beginning at 2pm at the Joseph B. Paul, Jr. Washington Funeral & Cremation, of Washington, North Carolina.

Joseph B. Paul, Jr. Washington Funeral & Cremation is honored to serve the Cannon family.
