In a world full of ordinary, Paul Gibson Jones Jr. was anything but. With a quick wit and a mischievous grin, he lived life on his own terms, leaving a trail of laughter and memorable moments in his wake. Paul, born in Pitt County, NC, on February 3, 1967, and brought plenty of charm and charisma into the world.
Paul’s work as a Crane Operator showcased his dedication and hardworking nature. He was a man who knew how to get things done, never shying away from a challenge or responsibility. But it wasn’t all work and no play for this free spirit. In his downtime, Paul had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and loved nothing more than hitting the open road with the wind in his hair. On a Hog on the open road was where he found true happiness. Whether it was a cross-country adventure or a spontaneous road trip, Paul was always ready for an adventure.
His presence alone could light up a room, and he had a special talent for turning even the most somber situations into moments of joy and laughter. That’s just the kind of person he was.
Above all, Paul cherished his family, particularly his beloved Momma. Family meant everything to him, and he held them close to his heart. In his passing, he reunites with his parents, Paul and Myrtle (Joyner) Jones, and his sister, Paula.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Sharon (David Hand) Hand of Blounts Creek, NC; his son, Joseph Paul (Tonya) Jones; his daughters, Kimberli (Travis) Moore and Destinee (Daniel) Wayne; his grandchildren, Joseph Jones Jr., Colton Wayne, Adam Moore, Elijah Moore, Jozie Moore, Emma Jones, Anna Jones, Elizabeth Wayne, and Rose Wayne; and his sisters, Pandora and Tina. Additionally, he shared a deep bond of friendship with his confidant, Karen Alligood Boseman.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 4:00pm at Edwards Cemetery, Possum Track Road, Chocowinity, NC. to celebrate Paul’s remarkable journey and remember how he could effortlessly change an uncomfortable subject by saying, “Look at them pretty flowers.”
Paul Gibson Jones Jr. may have left this world, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a shining light in our lives, and his zest for life will continue to inspire us all.
