Ronnie Harrison Wynne, was born November 16, 1950 in Martin County. Ronnie always loved sports. He played football, baseball and basketball as long as he could hold a ball! He graduated from Williamston High School in 1969 as a Williamston Green Wave and went on to play semi professional baseball for the Oakland As. When he returned to Martin County, he played softball and was a referee for multiple sports.
Ronnie worked in law enforcement his entire career. He began with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, and retired from University Health Systems Police Department in Greenville, NC.
The most important part of Ronnie’s life was his family, and it was evident in everything he did. He was a husband, a father, a brother in law, and a Boom Boom. He is survived by his wife, Maggie and his daughters: Maria Yost (husband, Gregg Yost) of Washington, NC and Beth Terlep (husband, Matt Terlep) of Hilo, Hawaii. He has 6 grandchildren, who called him Boom Boom: Kanani Terlep, Cody Stalls, Seth Stalls, Jacob Yost, Kekoa Terlep, and Kawika Terlep.
The family will celebrate his final “at bat” at one of his favorite places! Join us at 10:00am Friday August 30, Barnes Field at Skewarkee Park. We will celebrate his life with the many stories of Ronnie Wynne!
