Summer “Summertime” Kayla Renee Jefferson, 22, a former resident of Zebulon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in Mecklenburg County.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service Washington Funeral and Cremation Chapel. Following the service, the family will host friends and loved ones for food, fellowship, and a dove release at the family home.
Summer was born in Wake County, NC, June 5, 1999. She loved to cook and was working to become an accomplished hairstylist and nail technician. Her family will always cherish her singing, dancing, and how much joy and laughter she brought to each gathering. She would always make sure that others were happy and would go out of her way to make you know that she was thinking of you. Summertime was “Daddy’s girl”, and her siblings were more than willing to exploit this by using her to help them get what they wanted.
Along with her parents Gregory and Kymberly Jefferson, Summer is survived by her three brothers, Gregory Trandon “Bucky” Jefferson, James Robert “Kade” Jefferson, and James Gabriel “Gubby” Jefferson and her sister, Angelica “LiLi” Jefferson. Other siblings not of the home include her brother Markell Thompson and sisters Tara Thompson and Tamera McCoy.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Washington Funeral & Cremation is assisting the Jefferson family.
