Sylvia D. Edwards, a resident of Washington, NC passed away at Vidant Medical Center just a few short days after her sixty-fourth birthday, on February 5, 2022.
She was born in Washington County to the late John Carroll Williams Jr. and Lois J. Manseau-Williams in February of 1958.
Sylvia was a warm and out-going woman. She loved nothing more than haggling and trade back-and-forths at the flea market; it didn’t matter if she was buying or selling. She loved it all. Many of her favorite activities involved socializing and cutting-up with friends and family. She knew her way around the kitchen and never needed much of an excuse to feed and entertain a crowd. She was happily married to her husband Johnny for forty years. You know their marriage was exceedingly strong, as it survived four decades of Christmas-induced electric bills. She loved Christmas, and all the lights that came with it. She heard the expression, “lit up like Ft. Knox” and scoffed, considering it a dim pity. Holidays are a reason to gather; she loved all holidays but Christmas held a special place in her heart. Any event that would bring a flood of grandchildren through her door brought her joy.
Along with her mother and father she was also preceded in death by her stepfather Edward G. Walls; a son: Kenneth Ray Jones Jr., and a granddaughter: Alice Pearl Jones.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Johnny Edwards, two daughters: Khristie Jones Edson and husband Charlie, Jessie Mae Edwards and boyfriend James Deaver; two granddaughters: Tasia Griffin and boyfriend Wanya, Jordyn Deaver; Three Grandsons, Kenneth Jones III, Austin Jones, and Tyler Jones; a great-granddaughter: Addison Lilly-Ann Jones; two sisters: Janet and Patricia Williams; and two brothers: David and Danny Williams.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, February 10, at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service. A funeral service will held at 11:00am Friday, February 11, 2022 in the chapel of Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service.
Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to assist the Edwards Family.
