William Cole Cahoon, lovingly known as Cole, was born on November 11, 2004, in Beaufort County, NC. To his mother Rebecca H. Cahoon and his father Brad Cahoon. Cole’s journey as a young man came to an unexpected end on December 16, 2023, at the age of 19.
Cole lived a vibrant life with family and friends, never straying far from home. He graduated from Northside High School and was furthering his education at Beaufort County Community College for welding. Cole loved to draw random artwork, ride dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, and his truck. He experienced these adventures with his family and many friends. He loved hunting with his dad when he was younger, but the loss of Little Charlie (his dad and Cole’s best friend) lessened the desire. Cole loved all the family dogs; Coco, Oakley, and Drake as he went to them for comfort.
One of the best parts of Cole’s life was the deep, unbreakable bond with his brother Colin. Together, they grew and shaped each other, providing support and strength; they were best friends and partners in crime. Cole’s bond with his mother was strong and he depended on her for everything, always texting the smallest of things. As Cole continued to comfort her after the loss of (Maga), whom Cole shared a special bond as well, teaching him the Bible and school lessons every day as Hoff Road became a detour for Maga’s route home to Pungo. Cole’s bond with Dad was full of structure and teaching him to ride 4-wheelers, hunting and standing strong as he wanted Cole to become all he wanted and to find his way in life.
Cole surrounded himself with friends who became like family. Cole’s home was always open to sleep overs garage sitting, laughter, discussions, late night talking, and goofy dance music along with his mom, Dad, Colin and friends. Cole’s Mom and Dad endured all the joys and anguish of washing muddy clothes, cooking for all and the shoes at the back door to stumble over, and the bumps and bruises of all the kids; and wouldn’t change one thing about it all.
Cole leaves behind a loving family with a broken heart that will heal with time because his life was taken too soon. Rebecca and Brad will hold Cole in their hearts and forever cherish the memories, photos and love that was created from the time Cole was first laid in their arms at birth. Cole is also survived by his beloved brother, Colin Cahoon; (Nana) Sharon and (Papa) Ronnie; three aunts, Rita Graves, Crystal Tetterton, and Melissa McHarney three uncles; Tyler Cahoon, T.J. Tetterton, and Charlie McHarney. Great grandmother; Mavis Greenwaldt, aunts and uncles; Joedy, Barbara, Lisa, Lori, Terry, Debbie, and Steven “Puggy”, along with many cousins; Lemon, Topper, Kaleigh, Kaden, David, Amanda, Morgan, Co Co, Caelen, Callie, and Laurie.
Cole leaves behind a cherished circle of family and friends who will carry Cole’s memory and laughter in their hearts forever.
