William “Pete” Franklin Pittman Jr.

William “Pete” Franklin Pittman Jr., age 92, a resident of Washington, NC passed away at the ECU Health Beaufort Hospital on March 4, 2023.

A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 11:30am, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, NC.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times at the family home.
Pete was born to the late William Frank Pittman Sr. and Lillian Pearl Pittman (Brock) on July 10, 1930 in New Bern, NC. He was a man of many talents and many loves. An accomplished pilot and yacht captain, Pete loved to always be on the move. Football and golf, and most anything with a ball were other passions of his; but none more than the passion and love for his family and close friends.

Along with his parents, Pete was preceded in death by two grandsons: Tony and David Thompson and his brother-in-law Abe Saleeby.

He is survived by his loving wife Nickie Ann Pittman, daughter: Susan “Susie” P. Thompson, son: William “Chip” Franklin Pittman III., granddaughter: Michelle T. Lee and husband Michael, great-grandson: Joseph Camden Lee, brother-in-law William “Mike” Michael Saleeby and wife Ellen Shipp Saleeby, two nieces Bobbie Ann and Laura Ellen Saleeby, cousin: Robert Edward Lowe, and K-9 Sergio.
