Wilma Elizabeth Woolard Tingen age 70, a resident of Washington died on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Washington Assembly of God officiated by Gene Woolard. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the church.
Wilma was born on April 11, 1948 in Beaufort County the daughter of the late Roy Winfield Woolard and Edna Louise Woolard. She was married to William Larry Tingen her husband of forty-eight years who preceded her in death in January of this year. She had a great soul and spirit which was best described as a “gentle soul”. Wilma loved talking to people and when you once met her you were a friend for life. She enjoyed nature especially watching hummingbirds and would sit for hours just admiring all God’s creations. Most of all she loved God, her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Wilma will be greatly missed by her family and all her many friends.
She is survived by two daughters: Candis Tingen Hanson and husband Frank, Nancy L. Tingen and fiance’ Michael Wilmoth both of Washington, NC; a son: James T. Tingen of Washington, NC; a sister: Mary Godley and her husband Earl of Washington, NC; a brother: Lonnie Woolard and wife Carolyn of Pinetown, NC and four grandchildren: Joshua Hanson, Jamey Tingen, Dylan Tingen and Madison Tingen. Wilma was preceded in death by four brothers: Bruce Woolard, Gene Woolard, Leroy Woolard and Cosker Woolard.
